My Hobby Paragraph

A hobby is an activity that a person enjoys in his free time, and my favourite hobby is gardening. I have a small garden in front of our house where I grow roses, marigolds, sunflowers, and different vegetables. I get up early in the morning and water the plants, loosen the soil, and remove the weeds. In the evening I sit in the garden and enjoy the cool air and the sweet smell of the flowers. My hobby gives our family fresh vegetables and keeps me healthy, because working in the garden is a kind of exercise. It also teaches me patience, because flowers do not bloom in a day. Gardening has made me love nature even more, and I intend to continue this hobby all my life.

A hobby is an interesting occupation that a person takes up in his leisure hours for pleasure, and my favourite hobby is gardening, which gives me joy, health, and satisfaction. I have a small piece of land in front of our house, and with the help of my father I have turned it into a beautiful garden. I grow a number of flowering plants — roses, marigolds, jasmine, and sunflowers — as well as vegetables such as tomatoes, brinjals, and beans. Every morning I get up early and visit my garden: I water the plants, loosen the soil with a spade, pull out the weeds, and protect the young plants from insects. These simple duties have taught me regularity and patience, for a garden rewards only those who take care of it day after day. In the evening the garden becomes a place of rest and pleasure; I sit there under the shade, breathe the fresh air, and enjoy the sweet smell of the flowers after the day’s work. My hobby is not a waste of time, because the vegetables I grow are fresh and pure, the flowers decorate our house, and the work in the garden keeps my body fit. It has also brought me close to nature and taught me that everything in life needs time, care, and love to grow. I hope that in future I will have a bigger garden, because for me no other pastime gives so much happiness as gardening.
