Short Paragraph on a Hot Summer Day

A hot summer day is the most uncomfortable day of the whole year. In Bangladesh, the summer months of May and June are the hottest. The sun shines brightly from morning to night, and the earth becomes very hot. People sweat all day and feel tired. They try to keep themselves cool in different ways. Some sit under a big tree, some use hand fans, and others stay near a pond or river. Children enjoy the day by eating ice cream, ripe mangoes, and juicy watermelon. Street food sellers sell cold drinks and sherbet in the afternoon. The roads become empty because people do not want to walk in the burning heat. Farmers work less and wait for the evening. Poor people suffer most because they have no electric fans or coolers. In the evening, the air becomes a little fresh, and people come out of their houses. They sit on the roof or in the courtyard and talk with their neighbours. Some go to the market for shopping. A hot summer day teaches us to value the rain and the winter. We all wait for the evening when the heat becomes less and life becomes comfortable again.

A hot summer day in Bangladesh is very hard for everyone. The months of May and June are the hottest part of the year, and the sun looks like a ball of fire in the sky. From early morning the heat begins to rise, and by noon the earth becomes very hot. The wind blows, but it feels like hot air coming out of an oven. People sweat heavily, and their clothes become wet. Those who have to go out cover their heads with umbrellas or towels. Road workers, rickshaw pullers, and street vendors suffer the most because they work in the open sun all day. In the cities, the tar on the roads becomes soft, and the air feels dusty and dry. Many people take cold showers and drink plenty of water to stay cool. Children stay indoors in the afternoon, and schools give summer holidays. Students do not like to study in the afternoon because the room becomes too hot. Farmers suffer because the soil becomes dry and the water level goes down. Ponds and canals dry up, and villagers walk a long distance for drinking water. Electricity often goes down because the demand for fans and coolers becomes very high. The hot season also brings some happy things. It is the time for ripe mangoes, lychees, jackfruit, and watermelon. Children eat these juicy fruits and enjoy their holidays. In the evening the heat decreases, and people come out of their houses. Some sit in the courtyard, some go to the river, and others visit their friends. The night gives a little relief, and people sleep on the roof to get fresh air. A hot summer day is a test of patience for everybody. It makes us realise the value of rain, shade, and cold water. We should be careful in the summer and drink enough water so that our health stays good. When the evening comes, the tired people forget their trouble and enjoy the cool breeze. That is why even the hardest hot day ends with a peaceful night.
