Short Paragraph on an Airport

An airport is a big open place where aeroplanes land and take off. It is one of the busiest places in the world. Every day thousands of passengers come to an airport to go to different countries. An airport has a large building called the terminal. Inside the terminal there are counters for tickets, waiting rooms, and many shops. Before entering the plane, passengers have to show their tickets and passports at the check-in counter. Their bags are also checked by the security people to keep everyone safe. After that the passengers go to the departure lounge. From the lounge they watch the aeroplanes through the big glass walls. The runway is a very long road where the planes land and take off. When a plane takes off, it makes a loud sound and slowly rises into the sky. Pilots and airhostesses work in the aeroplane. I visited an airport once, and it was a wonderful experience.

An airport is a huge and busy place where aeroplanes come and go. It is the meeting point of the sky and the land. Every day hundreds of planes and thousands of passengers pass through an airport. An airport has a big terminal building with long counters for tickets and luggage. When a passenger arrives, the first step is the check-in counter. There the passenger shows the ticket and passport, and his bags are weighed and labelled. Then the passenger goes through the security check. Security guards check the bags with machines so that no dangerous object goes inside the plane. It is a very careful process because the safety of all passengers depends on it.

After the security check, the passenger enters the departure lounge. It is a large hall with comfortable chairs, shops, and small restaurants. Through the big glass walls, we can watch the aeroplanes standing on the runway. The runway is a very long straight road where planes take off and land. When a plane is ready, it moves slowly, then faster and faster, and finally rises into the air with a mighty sound. It is a thrilling sight. The pilot flies the plane, and airhostesses look after the passengers inside. The airport has a control tower too, from where officers guide every plane. I had the chance to visit the airport when I went to see my uncle off. The loud planes, the busy crowds, and the huge building amazed me. An airport is truly a city of its own, and I hope to fly in a plane one day.
