Essay on Aim in Life

Every person should have an aim in life. An aim is a fixed goal that a person wants to achieve. Life without an aim is like a boat without a rudder; it goes nowhere. So, an aim is very important in our life. Different people have different aims. Some want to be doctors, some want to be engineers, and some want to be teachers. My aim in life is to be a doctor. I want to become a doctor because I want to serve the sick people of my village. Many poor people of our village cannot go to town for treatment, and they suffer a lot. As a doctor, I will treat them free of cost. To reach my aim, I study science very carefully, especially biology. I know that without hard work, no aim can be achieved. So, I study regularly, follow my teachers’ advice, and never waste my time. I believe that if I work hard with honesty and patience, my aim will surely be fulfilled one day, and I will be able to serve my country and my people.

An aim in life is the fixed goal towards which a person directs all his efforts and energy. It is rightly said that a life without an aim is like a ship without a rudder, drifting on the ocean without any direction. The importance of an aim in life can hardly be exaggerated. An aim gives purpose to our daily work, saves us from the waste of time, and inspires us to overcome the difficulties of life. People who have no aim simply pass their days like leaves drifting in the wind, while people with a clear aim move forward step by step towards success. The aim of a person should be chosen according to his interest, ability, and the needs of society. Different people choose different aims: some want to be doctors, some engineers, some teachers, some businessmen, and some want to serve the country as soldiers. My aim in life is to become a doctor. There are many reasons behind this choice. The people of my village are poor, and they cannot afford treatment in the city hospitals. Many of them suffer and die for the lack of simple medical care. I want to remove this suffering. As a doctor, I will serve the poor patients free of cost, and I will set up a small health centre in my village so that the villagers can get treatment near their homes. An aim, however noble, is of no value unless it is supported by hard work. I know that the path to becoming a doctor is long and difficult. I have chosen science as my study group, and I am giving special attention to biology and chemistry. I follow the advice of my teachers, study regularly, and never waste a single moment. I also try to keep my body healthy because health is the greatest wealth of a doctor. I believe that with sincere effort, patience, and the blessings of my parents and teachers, my aim will be fulfilled. Then I will be able to serve humanity, bring honour to my family, and contribute to the welfare of my country. An aim in life gives meaning to life itself, and I am determined to reach mine with honesty and hard work.
