Short Paragraph on Save Trees

Trees are the best friends of man, and we cannot live without them. Trees give us oxygen to breathe, and they take in the harmful gas called carbon dioxide. They give us fruits like mango, jackfruit and guava, and they give us wood, shade and cool air. The roots of trees hold the soil and stop floods, and the leaves give food to the animals. Birds build their nests in trees and sing in the morning. But today people are cutting down trees in large numbers. Forests are being cleared to make houses, factories and roads, and the number of trees is falling fast. Because of this, the weather is changing, the air is becoming polluted and the earth is getting warmer. We must save trees to save our life. We should plant trees on our birthdays, in our schools and beside our houses. We should not cut trees unnecessarily, and we should take care of the young plants until they grow. If we save trees, the trees will save us. So let us all plant more trees and protect the green wealth of our country.

Trees are the most valuable gift of nature to man, and they are essential for the existence of life on the earth. A tree is like a living factory that produces oxygen, the gas we breathe, and absorbs carbon dioxide from the air. For this reason, trees are called the lungs of the earth. Trees give us fruits, flowers, timber, fuel, medicine, shade and shelter. They prevent soil erosion, because their roots hold the soil firmly and stop the flood water from washing it away. Trees bring rain, because they keep the air moist, and they keep the temperature of the earth balanced. They give homes to countless birds, animals and insects, and they are the natural habitat of our forests. Unfortunately, the cutting down of trees, known as deforestation, has increased alarmingly. Every year, lakhs of trees are cut down for firewood, furniture and land, and the green forests of our country are shrinking day by day. As a result, the environment is becoming unbalanced; floods, droughts, cyclones and heatwaves are becoming more frequent, and the world is warming fast. If this continues, the day is not far when the earth will become a desert. That is why saving trees has become a burning question of the present time. We can save trees by planting trees in large numbers, stopping the illegal cutting of forests, using less paper and wood, and taking care of every young sapling. The government should also declare more forest areas and punish those who cut trees illegally. We must remember the simple truth: if we save trees, the trees will save us. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago; the second best time is now.
