The construction of the bridge began in 2014, and it was opened for traffic in June 2022. The total length of the bridge is 6.15 kilometres, and it is 18.10 metres wide. It has two levels: the upper level has a four-lane highway, and the lower level has a railway line. It is a multipurpose road-rail bridge. About 41 thousand crore taka was spent on building it, all from our own country’s money, which made the nation proud. The Padma Bridge has brought great changes to the life of the people of the south-western region.
