My country is India. It is a big country in South Asia. The capital of India is New Delhi. India got independence from British rule on 15 August 1947. That is why we celebrate Independence Day every year on the 15th of August. Our national flag is called the tricolour. It has three horizontal stripes of saffron, white, and green, with a blue wheel called the Ashoka Chakra in the middle. Our national language is Hindi, but people speak many languages in different states. Our national flower is the lotus, our national bird is the peacock, and our national animal is the tiger. India is famous for its history, culture, and festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Eid. Many great people were born in India, including Mahatma Gandhi, who taught us truth and non-violence. India has a rich tradition of art, music, dance, and literature. We are proud of our country. I love my country very much, and I always try to be a good citizen. India is my motherland, and it is the most beautiful country in the world to me.
