Short Paragraph on My Elder Brother

My elder brother is my best friend and my guide. His name is Rahat, and he is two years older than me. He is now a student of class eleven in a college. My brother is tall, fair, and very smart in his studies. He always stands first in his class, and his teachers love him very much. He helps me in my homework and explains difficult sums in a simple way. When I make a mistake, he never scolds me; he teaches me with patience. He is also good at games and plays cricket and football very well. He is kind to our neighbours and helps the old man who lives near our house. He respects our parents and always obeys them. In the evening he reads story books and listens to music. He dreams of becoming a doctor so that he can serve the poor people of our country. I love my elder brother very much, and I want to be a good student like him.

Every family has a person who guides the younger members, and in my family that person is my elder brother. He is four years older than me, and he is now a student of a reputed college in our town. From my childhood he has been my closest friend, my teacher, and my protector. My elder brother is a very sincere student. He reads his books early in the morning and does not waste his time. Because of his hard work, he has always secured a good position in every examination, and his teachers praise him for his polite manners. I still remember how he taught me to walk, to ride a bicycle, and later to solve difficult mathematical problems. Whenever I face a problem in my studies, I run to him, and he explains everything so clearly that I can understand it at once. He is not only good in study but also good in sports. He plays cricket for our college team and has won several prizes. At home he is very helpful. He helps my mother in her work, takes care of my younger sister, and does his own work without troubling our parents. He respects all the elders of our society and always speaks politely to everyone. He wants to become a doctor, and he works very hard to fulfil this dream. He tells me that service to poor patients is the greatest service to God. My elder brother also teaches me good values. He says that honesty, truthfulness, and hard work are the pillars of a happy life. He saves some money from his pocket money and gives it to the poor students of our locality. He is my ideal, and I try to follow him in everything. I am proud of my elder brother, and I hope that he will become a great man and bring honour to our family.
