Paragraph on the Importance of Trees

Trees are the best friends of human beings, and we cannot think of life on earth without them. A tree gives us oxygen to breathe and takes in the harmful carbon dioxide from the air. It also gives us shade in summer, tasty fruits, and cool breeze. Birds build their nests on trees, and many animals live among them. Trees bring rain and keep the soil from being washed away. They make the land green and beautiful, and they protect us from floods and storms. Wood from trees is used to make furniture, houses, paper, and many other things. Trees also give us medicine and wood for cooking. When we plant trees around our home and school, the air becomes pure and fresh. Trees are important for our health and for the health of the earth. If we cut trees without planting new ones, our land will become hot and dry. So we should plant more trees and take care of them like our family members. Every student should plant at least one tree every year and water it regularly. In this way we can keep our country green and save our future.

In this way trees prevent soil erosion and reduce the risk of floods. Trees attract rain clouds, and the areas that have many trees usually receive good rainfall. Forests are the home of countless birds, animals, and insects, and they form a complete natural world. We also get wood, paper, rubber, oil, and many useful things from trees. The leaves and branches of some trees are used as medicine for different diseases. In Bangladesh, trees like the banyan, mango, and coconut are seen everywhere and they are part of our village life. Sadly, people cut down trees in large numbers for making roads, houses, and furniture. This cutting down of trees is called deforestation, and it is a danger for our environment. It makes the earth hot, causes less rainfall, and destroys the homes of animals. So the importance of trees can never be ignored, and we must protect them. We should plant more trees on roadsides, in school grounds, and in our courtyards. We should also look after the trees and water them in the dry season. If every person plants one tree every year, our country will stay green and our future will be safe. Therefore, trees are not just plants; they are our greatest friends and protectors.
