Short Paragraph on Hard Work

Hard work means doing work honestly and patiently with full attention. There is no short cut to success, and hard work is the key to every success in life. Those who work hard can reach their goal, while lazy people always fail. Many great men of the world became great only through hard work. Our Prophet (sm) taught us that a person must earn his livelihood by his own labour. Hard work is very important for students too. A student who studies regularly and sincerely passes well, but a clever but lazy student falls behind. Even a person of ordinary talent can win with hard work, while a gifted lazy person can waste his talents. Hard work removes poverty, builds character and gives us self-respect. It keeps our body and mind active and makes us responsible. In every profession, the person who works hard is honoured and loved by all. So we should always remember the truth that there is no substitute for hard work. If we work hard honestly, we can surely succeed in life.

Hard work is the key to success in student life as well. A student who studies regularly, day after day, passes the examination with good results, even if he is not very intelligent. On the other hand, a clever student who does not study fails in the examination. So in life, hard work matters more than talent. Hard work also builds our character. It makes us patient, responsible and self-confident. A hard-working man never begs before others, because he earns his living by his own labour. He is respected by the society and loved by all. Hard work also keeps us healthy and active. Our Prophet (sm) was a perfect example of hard work and honesty in earning a living.

From our childhood we should practise hard work in every work, whether it is study, sports or household duties. We should remember that Allah helps those who help themselves. So let us work hard with a clean heart, and success will surely come to us.
