Short Paragraph on My First Day at School

The first day at school is a very sweet memory of my life. I was five years old when I first went to school. My father took me there. I was a little afraid because everything was new to me. The school building, the noisy children and the huge classroom were all strange for me.

When I entered the classroom, I saw many boys and girls of my age. The class teacher smiled at me and gave me a seat near the window. She was very kind and gentle. She told me not to be afraid and said that I would love the school very soon. Slowly I became friendly with the other children. We played together at the tiffin break and shared our food.

At noon my father came to take me back home. I did not want to go then, because I had started to love my school. When I came back home, I told my mother everything about my first day. She became very happy. Even today I remember that day with a smile. It was the first step of my school life, and it will always remain one of the most beautiful days of my childhood.

The first day at school is one of the most important days in the life of every student. No one can ever forget this day easily, because it opens the door of a new world of knowledge. I still remember my first day at school very clearly, as if it happened only yesterday.

I was only five years old when I was admitted to a primary school near our village. On that morning I was very excited because I had a new school dress, new shoes and a new bag. My father woke me up early and told me that today I would go to school for the first time. I felt both happy and nervous at the same time.

When we reached the school gate, I saw many boys and girls in uniform. Some of them were running and playing, while others were talking with their friends. I held my father’s hand very tightly because I felt a little afraid. My father took me to the headmaster’s office. The headmaster was a tall man with a kind face. He asked me my name and I told him in a low voice. He smiled and patted my head.

Then a teacher took me to my classroom. The classroom was big and bright with many benches and desks. The teacher gave me a seat in the front row. She wrote the alphabet on the blackboard and asked us to read after her. I was very happy because I could read some of the letters. During the tiffin break, my classmates shared their food with me, and we became friends very quickly.

At the end of the day, my father came to take me home. I showed him my copybook with a big smile. My mother was waiting for us at home. I told her about my teacher, my friends and my new classroom. Everyone praised me and I felt very proud.

Now I am older, but I still love to remember that day. My first day at school taught me that fear goes away when we make new friends and trust our teachers. That day was the beginning of my education, and I will keep this sweet memory in my heart forever.
